Install

This page describes how to install Utterly Voice.

System Requirements

  • Utterly Voice currently supports Windows. It is tested regularly on Windows 10, but it is expected to work on any version since Windows 8.
  • If you use the default Vosk speech recognizer, Utterly Voice will use about 5 GB of memory. Your machine should have at least 8 GB of memory, ideally 16 GB or more.
  • If you use an online recognizer, Utterly Voice uses a very small amount of memory, but you should have a fast internet connection.
  • Some Utterly Voice mouse control features only support a single monitor currently.

1. Download

Go to the Download page and download the application zip file.

2. Unzip

Unzip the file to any location on your computer or any removable drive. Utterly Voice is a portable application, and it doesn't make any changes to your system settings. All of the settings and data required by the application are included in the application's directory.

If you have already installed Utterly Voice, and you're upgrading to a new version, you don't have to delete the old version.

3. Run the Application

Double click the application executable file in the unzipped folder: utterlyvoice (or utterlyvoice.exe if your Windows settings show file extensions).

The first time you run the application, Windows may show a warning about running an unknown application. This happens because the application is not published yet. Select the options that let you run the application. For example, on Windows 10, click more info then run anyway.

The application should open a window at the top of your screen, and it should behave similar to the taskbar. If you have not provided a license key yet, the setup window also opens automatically. See the Setup page for details.
